Nice quiet family oriented campground. Good quality for the price.
It is hidden just outside Fort Wayne. I never knew it was their until we couldn't get into the state park and stumbled upon it. I have never left. If your looking for a quiet, relaxing campground...this is paradise!

The best decision I ever made was to camp at EEL RIVER CAMPGROUND.
My son had raved over the campground. We decided to give it a try. The owners were friendly and warm. When we needed wood or ice it was delivered to our campsite. WOW! We had never had that before. What a joy to watch our grandchildren fishing and giggling over their first fish. Oh, yeah, their first frog, too. We didn't have to worry about the children while they were at the playground or the volleyball area. They can be seen from almost every campsite. We played a different kind of Bingo--it was called everybody wins. Everybody does win something at Bingo. We have met many wonderful people and made many new friends. From the holiday breakfast, to the Bingo, to the warm friendly family atmosphere, it is the only place we'll be going. It is so close to home, too. About 10 minutes from Fort Wayne.

Our entire experience at Eel River Campground in Churubusco Indiana was definitely pleasant. The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate their guests. The facilities are a must see for camping enthusiasts. The absolute cleanest restroom/showers/dressing rooms we have ever seen. Kids love it here too, because on weekends they play Bingo for some really cool stuff and it is cheap to play. The campground is not too big, you do not have to worry about your kids getting lost or just wondering off too far. With only 42 lots (of above average size), your kids can ride bikes, walk, play ball, go too and from the restrooms alone, play at the playground all without being followed around by an adult. Everything is within a very close proximity and you do not have to fear losing anyone. The fishing pond is spectacular. The owners do require children under 16 to be accompanied by an adult, but that is understandable. There is a great little candy store located in the office and the prices are very reasonable. Ice is cheap too. Not worth getting in the car and going to town when you run out because they keep their prices low enough you don't have to. Volleyball and Horseshoes are my family's favorite and we all have fun here. One of my favorite things about this campground is that the owners put on a breakfast (usually on the last day of any particular weekend). This consists of biscuits/sausage gravy/ sausages patties/OJ and Coffee. They do this for a donation and it is really nice because it allows you more time on the last day to get ready for tearing down and packing up. Not to mention it is really tasty too. We are definitely regulars and will be for a very long time. Please patronize this campground and take advantage of their prices being lower than any other campground around, (and I know, I have checked) and the way they make you feel welcome. I am sure you will not be disappointed and you will be planning your next visit with them before you even leave to go back home.
